11+ mock exams

Eleven plus (11+) tuition and mock exams by Kate Marke, a full time 11+ tutor and experienced primary school teacher.

11+ Mock Exams take place in Torquay for those intending to take the 11+ at a Torbay Grammar School.

Each mock exam consists of two tests. This reflects the format of the actual 11+ GL tests. There are two tests each lasting  50 minutes with a short break in between. The first paper is a multiple choice English paper consisting of a comprehension and exercises to complete on spelling, punctuation and grammar. The second paper is a multiple choice maths paper consisting of 50 questions.

In the actual 11+,answer sheets are marked using a computer. The mock exams reflect this as closely as possible. This provides invaluable and realistic preparation for the GL tests held at the Torbay Grammar Schools.

Following the mock exam, the answer sheets are marked and returned with the question papers, fully worked answers and feedback on how to improve with an analysis of which questions proved the most difficult for the group as a whole.   

You will also receive statistics comparing your child’s score with those who took the exam on the same day as well as scores attained by candidates in previous years who went on to pass the 11+. This provides a score to work towards in order to reach the required pass mark in the actual 11+.
